We describe here how our website is managed with regard to our use of clients’ personal data when they consult it. This information is provided pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Personal Data Protection Code, to those who interact with the web services of the Translation Studio Maria Franca Elegante, for protection of their personal data, accessible via web from the address http://www.mariafrancaelegante.com, the home page of the website.
This information refers to the Studio website only and not to other websites the user may consult via links.
The information is based on Recommendation no. 2/2001 that the European authorities for personal data protection, meeting in the work group established by art. 29 of Directive no. 95/46/EC, drafted on May 17, 2001, to indicate the minimum requisites for the collection of personal data on-line and, in particular, the ways, timing and nature of the information that the data controller must provide to the users when they visit websites, regardless of their purpose in doing so.

On consultation of this website, your personal data may be processed by identified or identifiable persons. The “Controller” of their use is Maria Franca Elegante, via Ornato 7, 20162 Milan (Italy).
SITE OF DATA PROCESSING
Any processing connected with the website’s services is done at the Studio address by personnel employed by the Studio or others, employed occasionally for maintenance operations.
No data deriving from the web service are communicated or published.
The personal data furnished by users who submit requests for informative material are used for the sole purpose of performing the services requested, and are communicated to others only if this is necessary for that purpose.
TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED
Web navigation data
The information systems and software procedures used for the operation of this website, acquire some personal data during normal operation, transmission of which is implicit in use of the Internet communication protocols.
The data processed are not collected to be associated with identified parties, but by their very nature, through processing and association with data controlled by third parties, could make it possible to identify the users.
This category of data would include such information as IP addresses or domain names of the computers used to connect to the website, addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) format of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the dimensions of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the response data status of the server (sent, error, etc.) and other parameters relative to the operating system and user’s computer environment.
These data are used for the sole purpose of receiving anonymous statistical information on use of the site and to monitor its correct function, and they are deleted immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in case of hypothetical information crimes damaging the website: other than this possibility, under current conditions, the data on web contacts do not persist for more than seven days.
Data furnished voluntarily by the user
E-mail addresses, furnished voluntarily and explicitly to the addresses indicated in this website, are subsequently acquired as they are necessary to respond to requests, along with any other personal data included in the message.
Specific data summaries will later be listed or displayed on the website pages prepared for particular services requested.
COOKIES
None of the users’ personal data are acquired by the website in this connection.
Cookies are not used to transmit personal information, and no so-called persistent cookies, or systems for tracing users of any kind, are used.
The use of so-called session cookies (which are not saved in any permanent way on the user’s computer and vanish on closing the browser) is strictly limited to transmission of the session identification data (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) and is necessary to permit secure, effective exploration of the website.
The so-called session cookies used by this website prevent recourse to other information techniques, potentially prejudicial for the confidentiality of user navigation, and do not permit acquisition of the user’s personal identity.
VOLUNTARY NATURE OF PROVIDING DATA
Aside from the specifications regarding navigation data, the user is free to provide the personal data indicated in the inquiry forms or in contacts with the Studio to request transmission of informative material or other communications.
Failure to provide them may make it impossible to receive a reply to requests.
For the sake of completeness we have to point out that in some cases (not subject to ordinary management by this website) the Authority may request information pursuant to art. 157 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, for purposes of monitoring personal data processing. In these cases, response in compulsory, subject to a fine.
MODE OF PROCESSING
Personal data are processed with automated instruments and other means, for the time strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected.
Specific security measures are observed to prevent the loss of data, illicit or improper use and unauthorized access.
RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT
The persons to whom the personal data refer have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence of their data and to know the contents and origin, verify that they are correct or request completion, updating or correction (art. 7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003).
Pursuant to the same article of law, data subjects may request erasure, anonymization or blocking of data that have been processed unlawfully, or object to their processing, in any case, for legitimate reasons.
Such requests shall be made to the Office.
